The Texas Young Democrats would like to thank former U.S. representative Beto O'Rourke for the campaign that he ran for President of the United States. Running in 2018 for a seat in the Senate, he energized Texans across the state, especially young Texans, and helped elect Democrats down the ballot.
Running for president, Rep. O'Rourke ran a campaign based on, as he so often said, the courage of his convictions. After the shooting in El Paso and in Odessa — calling in to check on our members then — he was a bold and fervent advocate for gun control and gave voice to those who lost their lives.
We thank Beto for his many years of public service to his city, his state, and for his impassioned voice in the presidential race.
